Chilli Pepper De Cayenne Seeds
For Greenhouse Crops: Sow seeds thinly indoors between February and April, placing them 0.5cm (¼") deep in trays filled with compost. Water thoroughly and keep them in a warm spot with a temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F). Ensure the compost stays moist. Seedlings should appear within 7-21 days. Once they’re large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots. Grow the young plants in cooler conditions (not cold) until they are ready to plant out in May or June. Transfer them into large pots, growing bags, or well-drained soil in the greenhouse border for the best results.
For Outdoor Crops: For sowing intended for outdoor growth, start seeds indoors in March or April, using the same method as above. Gradually acclimatize the young plants to outdoor conditions while avoiding frost exposure. Once frost risks have passed, plant them out 40cm (16") apart in a warm, sunny, sheltered location. Outdoor plants will produce smaller and later crops than those grown in a greenhouse.
